• A minimum tank size of 10 gallons is recommended for a small group of red pencil fish. They are active swimmers and appreciate the space.

Water Parameters

• Temperature: Keep the water temperature between 75-82°F (24-28°C).
• pH Level: They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH of 6.0-7.5.
• Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water is ideal, around 2-12 dGH.
• Water Quality: Regular water changes (20-30% weekly) and good filtration are essential to maintain clean and stable water conditions.

Diet

• Red pencil fish are omnivores. They thrive on a varied diet that includes high-quality flake or pellet food, supplemented with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms.
